Which category are you in?
Job title → NOC → pillar and category, or "not currently on a priority list." Surfaced before the score because it is the product's main differentiator.
Job offer
Employer, indeterminate full-time offer, hourly wage. Both Skills Immigration streams require a valid offer; there is no route without one.
Wage vs. BC median
Compared against the ESDC median wage for your NOC and economic region. Whether this factor is worth 55 points or up to 100, and whether it's scored absolutely or relative to the median, is unconfirmed pending the current Program Guide, so this calculator uses the 55-point split reported for the 4 Dec 2025 grid.
Work location
Regional district, not city. Metro Vancouver versus everywhere else is worth real points, and the 35% regional-nomination target makes it worth more in practice than on paper.
Work experience
Directly related, paid experience in the same occupation, inside or outside Canada.
Education
Highest level completed, plus BC/Canadian post-secondary credentials and any professional designation.
Language
CLB per ability, from IELTS, CELPIP or PTE. A retest often gains more points than a wage bump, so check this before asking for a raise.
Express Entry alignment
Not part of the 200-point SIRS grid, but the natural bridge to a federal application.

Category beats total score
Care rounds have cleared as low as 50 to 68; Innovate's score route has run as high as 138. Knowing which bucket your NOC lands in matters more than any single point total.
Region policy pays off outside Metro Vancouver
With at least 35% of nominations now targeted outside Metro Vancouver, the region points are worth more in practice than the 25-point maximum on paper.
A wage bump isn't the safest lever
BC will not approve an application where it has reasonable grounds to believe the wage was inflated. A language retest is often the higher-value, lower-risk move.
Quick answers
What score do I need for the BC PNP?
It depends entirely on the category, and 2026's published minimums span 50 to 138. Care and Build rounds have landed between 68 and 121; the Innovate score route ran 132–138; a narrowly targeted rural and remote health round cleared at 50. There is no single provincial cut-off.
Is there a BC tech stream?
No. Dedicated tech-targeted draws ended with the April 2026 restructure. Tech candidates can still be invited under Innovate: High Economic Impact, which has run at the highest cut-offs of the year.
Does age count?
No. The current SIRS grid, in force since 4 December 2025, awards no points for age.
Should I inflate the wage to score higher?
No. BC will not approve an application where it has reasonable grounds to believe the wage was inflated to boost the score, and the offer must be genuine and market-supported.
