What is the BC PNP?
The BC Provincial Nominee Program lets the province nominate skilled workers, international graduates and entrepreneurs for permanent residence based on BC's own labour-market priorities. This calculator covers Skills Immigration: candidates submit a registration into the Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) pool, and BC periodically invites top-ranked, well-matched profiles to submit a full application for a provincial nomination.
A BC nomination isn't permanent residence. After receiving one, you apply separately to IRCC for permanent residence, with its own processing, fees and background checks. If your registration was Express Entry-aligned, the nomination also adds 600 points to your federal Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score.
The three pillars
Since 23 April 2026, every Skills Immigration candidate is classified into one of three pillars based on occupation: Care, Build, or Innovate. Two streams this calculator does not cover
The Health Authority stream is applied to directly through a specific BC health authority and does not use a SIRS score, so a numeric calculator would misrepresent it. Entrepreneur Immigration uses an entirely separate points system. Both are out of scope for this calculator.
