This is a general, non-exhaustive list to help you prepare, not the official WelcomeBC checklist, which varies by category and can change. Confirm the exact current list directly with WelcomeBC before submitting anything.
Identity & status
- Valid passport for you and any accompanying family members
- Proof of current immigration status in Canada, if applicable
- Marriage or common-law partnership certificate, if applicable
Job offer
- A valid, full-time job offer from a BC employer (mandatory for essentially every Skills Immigration category, including for international graduates as of January 2026)
- Wage documentation supporting the offer, especially for the Innovate wage route
Language
- IELTS General Training or CELPIP General test results, converted to CLB with the CLB converter
Education
- Diplomas and transcripts, with an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) if obtained outside Canada
- Proof of a BC or Canadian credential, if claiming that bonus
- Professional designation or certification documents, if applicable
Work experience
- Employer reference letters confirming role, dates and hours
- Proof of experience in an eligible NOC/TEER category matching your claimed pillar and occupation
Other
- Proof of funds, where required
- Regional-district documentation, if claiming the outside-Metro-Vancouver region bonus
